16 December 1902 The Earliest Known Date Usage Registered cover from Tehran to Surrey (England) sent by Captain James of British Telegraph Office franked with 1ch lilac, 2ch gray, 3ch green, 5ch rose-red, 10ch pale brown, 12ch blue, and 1kr purple (perforated 11.5 x 11)tied by "TEHERAN-DEPART 16/12" postmarks. Cover showing London receiving postmark of "30 DC 02". This is the ONLY known cover used at this date.
