1897 Tabriz Local Post Issue

Only mint copy known - Type 1

During late 1897 and early 1898, a local post stamp issued in the northwestern city of Tabriz, the capital of Azarbaijan province. This stamp was printed on the sheet margins of some existing stamps. Although there is no denomination on these stamps, however, apparently they were used as one Shahi stamps in addition to regular postage stamps.

Two types of these typeset label stamps have been so far identified as shown below:
