During late 1897 and early 1898, a local post stamp issued in the northwestern city of Tabriz, the capital of Azarbaijan province. This stamp was printed on the sheet margins of some existing stamps. Although there is no denomination on these stamps, however, apparently they were used as one Shahi stamps in addition to regular postage stamps. Two types of these typeset label stamps have been so far identified as shown below: |

Type 1
Two pieces with combinations of local issue and 5ch 1894 issue, tied by negative seal "Post-eh Shahr-eh Tabriz" (City of Tabriz Post)
Local cover franked with local issue type 1 and a one Shahi stamp of 1898 issue, addressed to the deputy counsel of French consulate.
